There has been a lull in the posts lately. Apparently y'all have been practicing, or something, right? <g> My family has been getting ready for Christmas, and I have indeed been busy practicing.
Last Thursday my teacher's group played for a dinner for volunteers of the Portland Chinese Garden. I joined in on erhu, zhonghu and duxianqin (dan bau). It went well enough, and we had fun.
Things are ramping up more with the ensemble. We have a home-cooked CD, but it needs more polishing to be distributed to more than friends and family. I am enjoying the more manageable tunes than the erhu solos my teacher had me working on. One called "Beautiful Jiangnan" is really a joy to play. It reminds me of Purple Bamboo.
Best wishes,
David

Hi David,
Glad to see things happening on your side. I knew you were hibernating for something big.
Playing in ensembles is a lot more fun than playing solos. Everyone should join one at some point of time.
