Hey all:
I've got a Chinese friend who has just finished building a new home with her husband. As a gift I want to do a wood-carving incorporating elements of both their cultures (Montana country boy, Xi'an girl).
What would be a standard house-warming gift in China? I'm looking for something that I could put in the carving that would immediately say "Happy new home". YOu know, like a peach symbolizes long life - what would be the standard cultural icon for having a new successul house? I might carve in a chengyu as well.
Thanks!
Carlos
