is it just me or is this forum super inactive? I suspect you'd have to find someone from Yunnan, if you want an answer. Re. spam: There were 1733 spam messages waiting for me this morning. Is this a record?

I expect that most of us are more into Han music. However, two of my favorite tunes are "Dance of the Yao People" and "Dance of the Yi People". The Yao and Yi are ethnic minorities of Yunnan, so maybe they qualify. I don't know though if these tunes are truly products of those cultures.
There is a book "Echos of History: Naxi Music in Modern China", which is about another ethnic group in Yunnan. The music is interesting, but it is not really my thing. None of the tunes really stick with me. Maybe it would be more fun to play than listen to.
Best wishes,
David

"Dance of the x y z" are NOT traditional musics from said cultures! They are more of a modern romanticisation compositions about or based on those cultures.
