Hi everyone, My name is Tim, Im from Dunedin, New Zealand. I just found this forum so I thought I'd join. I play a 21 string Guzheng, I know its usually thought of as a womens instrument but I love it anyway . I was getting lessons from a lovely lady called Patricia a few years ago, but she moved back to Taiwn I think, so I pretty much just teach myself. I'm really not very good cause I've been lazy and not playing much lately I think this forum may inspire me to keep playing though. Tim

Welcome, Tim! I look forward to reading about your journey with the guzheng. I am glad that you don't buy into the fallacy that the guzheng belongs to the women. In fact, there is no reason that any instrument should be exclusive to any one sex. I hope that you can find another teacher. Besides being a lot of fun, lessons are great for helping to set goals. Even when I am busy I often practice to avoid embarrassing myself at lessons. That does not always work, but it is a goal. I love it when my teacher says "Wow!". <g>
Best wishes,
David
