Oooooooooooooh,
Very difficult to answer..
I enjoy to play "High Mountain Flowing Water" (the melow version instead of the really fast one) and "Fishing Boat Song At Dusk". These two because they are pretty basic in terms of melody and they evoke a real sense of ancient feelings. The pieces really give listeners of all levels appreciation of the guzheng in a way that isn't so IN YOUR FACE or isn't too complicated..
These pieces also go through the entire range that the guzheng can provide and it is gorgeous to hear the entire instrument resound at its fullest!
These particular pieces on the 26 stringed guzheng is beyond mind, body and spirit to hear..
Thanks for your posts,
Vi An

My two favourite songs are Han Ya Xi Shui (Ospreys playing in the water) because it sounds serene and one can express calmness well in this piece.(Not very easy though...Grade 8) and another piece would be Zhan Tai Feng and Liu yang he (i grade them the same)

Too sad, many of my favorites songs I still can't play. My favorites 2 songs that I can play are Jasmine Fragrance and the Emperor of the West Chu. Both are composed by He Zhanhao, the composer of the Butterfly Lover. However, my favorite composer will be our prince Wang Zhongshan though.
