If one was to purchase a zheng and the instrument was unassembled (no strings and no bridges installed) how would you go about assembling the instrument yourself.
Reading the instructions, if available, doesn't count because the instructions are in Chinese and the assembler doesn't know how to read Chinese.

Spend a few dollars and get the books of Angela Jui-Lee "an introduction to the gu-zheng". These are the only ones written in English as far as I know. The books are thin, but contain all necessary information. Volume one starts with explanations about the guzheng, names of the parts, how to set up, putting strings and bridges in place. When I received my first guzheng it was of great help for me. You can get them here: www.clarionmusic.com/Chinese-guzheng.htmlor maybe you'll find them somenwhere else.

In case anyone is interested, Angela Lee has a website at www.ajlee.com/, and her books are described. There is a third volume that is not listed on Clarion Music's site. Best wishes, David Dahl Portland, Oregon

Ahhh... thank you for the link. They finally accept Paypal. I tried to buy Vol. 3 a few months ago but was not able to, beause they did not accept the type of CreditCard I'm using.
