Finally a new member in this forum :-) My name is Frauke Cremer, I live in Germany and I'm a guzheng beginner. I'm playing the guzheng since February this year. Since I wasn't able to find a guzheng teacher near my city I'm trying to teach myself using VCDs and books.
I have lots of CDs with wonderful Chinese Pop music, played on the guzheng. Now I'm looking for sheet music. Maybe I can master to play some of the songs. Does anyone have sheet music of Chinese Pop songs and is willing to share? Or can anyone help me to buy sheet music? Unfortunately I don't speak nor read Chinese...

...... Chinese pop music??? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!! Why would you want to play Chinese pop on the guzheng? You must begin with traditional pieces first. Sorry, just airing my opinion...

Aehm.. Why not? Music should be fun, shouldn't it?
I'm learning guzheng with tradtional pieces, but it's demanding and after an hour or so I get tired and like to play something shallow.
I like Chinese Pop very much, so why not learn to play it, too? I work hard all day long and when I come home, I want to relax and do things that make fun. I have no attittude to become a professional or something like that. Just wanna make music, please myself and my friends.
Please tell me, do you think I should stop playing Jazz on my German Flute?

Thank you very much for the links.
I have dealt with aiyuechina before and was very satisfied. Unfortunately I do not read Chinese, but as far as I can see, there are mostly classical pieces - and I already have sheet music for most of them.

Well, as you might have guessed, I have a certain hatred towards Chinese pop (more of the modern than anything else). But I guess since you're playing guzheng more for relaxation than for serious study, then I guess that's fine by me.
Good luck on your search for the sheet music, stc.

fraucemer,
I'm not really familiar with what you mean by chinese pop, but when I first learned the dan tranh (vnmese zither), my teacher taught me "Caravan of Life", a chinese song. So I have sheet music for that if you want ;D I also have another song that I taught my student, a song from those HK series. These are not classic at all, but the younger ones seem to like them.

I have sheet music for "Crying sands", an adaption for solo guzheng and I like this song very much. Now I'm looking for similar pieces. I could look up some of my favourite songs on my CDs and post a list of titles to give you an idea.
I don't know the two songs you mentioned, but of course I'm interested. Do you have the facility to scan the sheets and send them as pdf-files?
