For any one who likes "dizi" or "xiao", I strongly recommend the following two pieces performed by a young yet accomplished artist in China, her name is "Tang, Jun Qiao". The first piece is called "Zhuang Tai Qiu Si", the second piece is called "Mei Hua San Nong", they are both my very favorite, listen to them carefully and I am sure you'll find something special deep down in your heart too that associates to the music. They're also the true classics, composed hundreds of years ago (matter of fact, mei hua san nong or the "three variations of the plum blossom melody" is one of the oldest piece for dizi (later on used for Guqin as well). For anyone who uses DSL or anything of that nature, you ought to have no problem finish downloading these files in a short time (they're located on some server in China), and use RealPlayer (Think they change the name of their product to RealOne nowadays) to play. Hope you'll enjoy it. www.xihudixiao.com/down/ztqs.rmwww.zhudi.net/tjq/mh3r.rm

Hiya!!
Great to see another dizi fanatic!
Zhuang Tai Qiu Si, Yu Xunfa was talking abt this piece to me. Gooes well onn Xiao, but you need a good Guzheng to duet with u!
Mei Hua san nong (3 variations of peach blossom) is a piece where the player neeeds excellent breathe control. the harmonics are not easy for beginners. I managed to let mty best student try it without difficulty, but mpst people stumble when they hit 1 5 5 5-

Nice to meet you. Yu Xun Fa. Wow, you know him? That is wonderful. He is really good eh? I wish I would have a chance to talk to him. One of my all time favorite dizi musician also lives in Singapore now, Zhan Yong Ming. He plays everything so beautifully.

Yu Xunfa gave me a few masterclasses, taught me this piece, brushed up on my YouLanFengChun and Qiu Hu Yue Ye. (thats hard)
Zhan Yong Ming can be considered my acquaintance, he knows me by first name, but customary propriety demands that i address him as teacher. He is really good, and often talks to me when we emet about latest happenings.
hiya Jinlong. where do you hail from?
