Hello all, A while ago I downloaded the Jiebing Chen bowing video for when I would need it. (It's such a great video.) I finally got an erhu. So I went to the file where I had the video stored, and it would not run. I tried my laptop, and it would not run there either. I tried to download it again and no luck. I even deleted and reinstalled Real Player---still no luck. But, other videos work. Is this video working for you all? Or am I somehow screwing up? www.jiebingchen.com/erhu/video.shtmlAlso, does anybody know of a video that shows how to evenly rosin a bow? I think I am doing it correctly, but would be happy for verification. Oh, and I didn't listen to your warning to wear gloves when using rosin. I thought, "I can handle that," not taking into consideration the facts that the humidity here now hangs around 75% and that the temp. seldom goes below 90 degrees. I ended up with hands so sticky I could have walked up the walls like Spiderman. Thanks, Suzanne

Congratulations on your new erhu!
Best wishes,

I watched that how to bow video some time back and one has to have realplayer to be able to see it. I know I had to try and load realplayer a couple of times before it worked. If one can see it it's worth a watch. Lisa

How odd....This video has always worked for me on my same PC and set up. It's a .ram extension video which is fairly new in the world of codecs and players but has always worked fine for me on real player.
It won't work now which tells me the site has a bandwidth limit, so best bet is to wait for another time.

Oooh that's naughty hahaa I tried to get this file onto my hard drive before but it was designed so you couldn't get it from the temporary folder. Firefox seems to keep you out of retrieving files easily.
I'm interested on how you obtained this file source?
Thanks Curt, another little video file for my Erhu folder.

Hi Damien and all! Searching the web from google I found Jiebing web site and than I download the file that Suzanneski indicate at the begin of this topic: www.jiebingchen.com/erhu/video.shtmlAt this location I downloaded the file "jbc1-dsl.ram". The file wasn't funcional by me too, then I analize the file and discover that is a ascii/plain text file with the location of the video file: www.jiebingchen.com/video/jbc1-dsl.rmWhen I see this topic I remembered my trouble with this file and post my reply []s Curt

Ahh interesting, so in simple terms you opened the file with Microsoft Word and found the source.
I guess it must work for all types of shortcuts
Thanks for the info Curt.

Hi Damien! Not exactly, but the same idea ... At GNU/Linux prompt (command line interface) I run: $ file jbc1-dsl.ram jbc1-dsl.ram: ASCII text, with no line terminators and then: $ cat jbc1-dsl.ram www.jiebingchen.com/video/jbc1-dsl.rm[]s Curt *** sorry the off-topic ***
