I recently made a purchase with Cadenza, and it's been two days but I have yet to hear anything from them. No "thank you for your orders" or "your item is on its way" or "We are sorry but it might be a few days".... no nothing. Does anyone know if Cadenza is still in business?
Maybe I'm being over-zealous, but surely everyone here can understand the anticipation, excitement and anxiety we might feel waiting for our new erhu to arrive.

That is a good question. I have been waiting for a bow order from Cadenza since early April with little in the way of communications. I fear the worst. It is very disappointing.
Best wishes,
David

Well, I am still waiting on my erhu, as my erhu failed to show up after one-week's wait as promised by Cadenza when we last communicated. I just wish that they would respond to email request for a simple tracking number.

I am not sure that tracking numbers are available for the shipping method used by Cadenza. Don't panic yet. The erhu will need to clear US customs, and that would take a bit longer than my bows due to the snake skin. Hopefully the CITES license is in order.
Best wishes,
David

I sincerely hope that I won't have to wait half as long as you did, since you said that you've been waiting for your bow since early April.
My first erhu was bought over Ebay (never again) and was shipped from Shenghai to San Antonio in two weeks, and they did provide me with a way to track the shipment.

I think if the shppment was made via such express carrier as TNT or UPS, it can be delivered within 4 days.
And so far the quickest was the service provided by UPS, they promise a next-day delivery solution from China to USA if the package was delivered to them before 12am.
Most of the Erhu sold on Ebay are for the beginners, but there are still some very good ones, I think, it depends on the seller's willingness to select a good one for you.

I agree, most of the erhu on ebay is for beginner and intermidiate class, highest end erhu has no chance to end up on ebay. they are grabbed by teachers and performers globally and still has a very long queue.

Just received the erhu today! What a wonderful instrument, what a piece of art! I'm very happy with it--it was worth the wait (although I certainly wish to avoid the anxiety and the long wait).

I ordered my strings on June 11 and haven't received anything yet. So it has been over a month. Is this normal for mail from China? George

I emailed Cadenza. I hope that they answer soon. The strings were not much money at all, but I would like to have spares. george

If it hadn't of been for all this negative feedback about the slow shipping I might well of bought a Dizi from Candenza by now.
Why don't you try and find him on yahoo George.

I have just spoken to Yinhao from Cadenza and his grandmother past away not so long ago and he is working 16 hours a day trying to speed things up. In June he was in military service also. As Cadenza is primarily manufacturers they are working really hard to get the products ready and shipped out. He has also began the manufacturing of a new set of Dizi in May.
Yinhao apologizes for the time scale of shipping but shall return to normal fairly soon.
Just passing on the message.
If you need to contact him here is his email - yeahohoho@yahoo.com
