I've looked on posts and see numbers for the finger positions, explanations are in chinese. While I'm waiting on my erhu to arrive I'm trying to understand as much as possible. I also would like to be a bit more learned before I approach a teacher. Could someone please post what these mean (basics). Kind of like a mini class in a way. I know it could be time consuming for someone to do but I think well worth while and greatly appreciated. My humble thanks for your time on this.
best Wishes, Lisa

Thank you so much Carlos....... I'll study wholeheartedly. Sorry for all the questions.... When I get my erhu, my questions may be a bit more pointed and have direction.... or, hopefully I will have a teacher and I can bend their ear a bit.
Many Thanks, Lisa

Are you talking about which finger for each note? It usually goes like 1=Finger 1. 2=Finger 2 and so on. Different keys require a different finger chart. Just remember that on erhu, all 3 and 4 (Me & Fa) are always 1/2 notes. So just put the figners right next to each other. Same with 7 & 1. It's complicated to understand yeah, but I think you'll get it. Good luck!
