Hello! While looking around online, I notice one erhu on ebay, where it says "silver wire" style for the description. Does anyone know what is silver wire style? Or is that simply a fancy name?
Thanks! May

silver wire is Qian Yin Si. Maaltan's ebony sandalwood or Dalbergia Erhu made by my company has the Silver Inlay. It is a vcery popular decorative craft on erhu view the HEITAN erhu on this page www.cadenzamusic.biz/cn/products.htm

Yes, its very nice. The inlay adds alot to the looks of the erhu. I thought you meant silver strings at first. I dont think silver could stand the tension and if it could, it would stain your bow and everything else black quickly. But, according to current tv advertisements, it will kill virus's and bacteria. Useful if you routinely loan your Erhu to people with the flu.

Thanks YinHao! The erhu looks really nice. The snake skin looks beautiful too. Is it quite expensive? I probably have to settle for plain one, with a decent sound, but nothing fancy. Maaltan, you're lucky to have such a fine instrument! I'm still using my rental one. And fortunately, I don't have to loan my erhu to anyone with the flu! May silver wire is Qian Yin Si. hmm.. these are not expensive. We made these ourselves in Singapore, with Vlaid license.
Heitan is the HIT thing now in Taiwan and Japan. With our special thicker skins, the sound is 160% that of some very expensive erhus from Shanghai, stright from the maker. (I did not record this myself, my agent in Taiwan didi)
