Sorry to bring up video games again on here, but I have been playing a very good game called Okami. I was wondering if any chinese reading people have played it.
The intriguing part about it is its like an animated japanese ink painting (sumi ?) Very beautiful.
the reason i bring it up is it has alot of nice music in it. Most is samshen, etc. One of the bosses has a nice erhu-like piece that accompanys it.
Also, it has alot of characters in the game they did not translate for artistic reason. They say its kanji but all of the ones ive tried to translate have turned out to be either chinese trad or simplified. Are the chinese and kanji characters that similar?
I do not have anything installed on my computer to translate japanese yet.

Japanese and Chinese are really similar. The Japanese language is based off of the Chinese characters. There are many characters in Japanese that you will see in Chinese but it isn't the same meaning. Also, the Japanese use round symbols. The Chinese don't.

I am playing okami on my ps2 currently. The songs from the game are great.... wonder where can I download the .mp3 for this game...
I noticed the chinese characters used in the game mostly have the same meaning in Chinese eg. wind, fire etc...
