Hi ! During a trip to San Francisco last october, my wife gave me an erhu for my birthday. The same day i took a lesson that i enjoyed a lot. And since i've been trying to play on my own and i've been telling myself that i should find a teacher in the Boston (or Southern NH) area.
So here we are ! Do you know of any teachers around here ?
I'm really anxious to start learning that instrument seriously ! These past few days i've been looking up videos on youtube ... and i enjoyed it a lot !
Well thanks ! Matthieu

HI again ! Sadly, my search on google didn't bring back anything conclusive ! I used the keys words "teacher erhu boston" Maybe there are some keywords that i don't know that i could use ? I read a while back some posts from a guy that had a teacher in the Boston Area .... i'll try and find the post back. I was hoping that that member could give me some advice ...
Thanks Anybody else has an idea of where to look for a teacher ?
Matthieu

Hi Matthieu:
I did some searches and came up with a possible resource. Try this place:
Chinese Cultural Center 30 Kneeland St Boston, MA 02111 (617) 426-9881 (617) 482-3292 chineseperformingarts.net
If they can't help you directly they have some leads. Perhaps you've called them already...

Hi Matthieu,
I live around Boston and I'm new to ErHu, too. I have been learning how to play through a friend (a crash course, only did it twice - and that's during my recent trip to Shanghai).
Now, now I'm back home in the US and have been practicing using the book that I got in Shanghai and also from George Gao's instructional video.
I'm thinking I must find a teacher in Boston and wonder if you've had any luck finding one? Please let us know.
I think it would be cool to form a small ensemble of beginner Erhu players, to have fun, to learn together and also to boost confidence. Anybody else from Boston in this forum?
Yours, Dave

If you Boston people are interested, I can set you up with my teacher. Give me a call during the day (781.860.1510) to discuss as I don't frequent the forum that much (work is killing me).
Shepardboy,
I replied to your PM -- sorry for the delay.
Regards, paul...

Paul: So sorry I totally forgot you were in Boston! This should help. Carlos Carlos, No need to apologize -- I haven't been on this forum for several months now, and I'm just happy that you remember who I am, let alone where I live!! BTW, I got a chance to listen to your songs on your website and really enjoyed them. Regards, Paul....
