I recently got my first erhu for my birthday, and was wondering if there was anyone here from the lowermainland in B.C. Canada that could help me out in getting started with my instrument!

Tom:
You're in Vancouver proper? I seem to remember someone there who plays - I'll look into it. If you're way of Vancouver and wouldn't mind a short drive to Spokane, Washington, I'd be happy to meet up with you and show you some basics. I'll try and find that name, though.

Okay: I can't recall or find who I initially dug up in Vancouver, but there is apparently some guy who mixes up African and Chinese music, with him on erhu: Tianji Xie. Here's the CDBaby page for him: www.cdbaby.com/cd/bcolangelo2All the web references I've found list him as being from Vancouver. I find no phone or address, but if he's there you can probably find him through Chinese Associations. Carlos
