I just bought a fascinating DVD: "The Magical Jouneys of Andreas Vollenweider". It is a concert retrospective and features Wang Xiaojing playing erhu on a number of tracks. Right now I am listening to her play "Spring" accompanied by Vollenweider on amplified steel-string guzheng. At the end of the piece she uses harmonics (fan yin) very nicely. Absolutely Lovely!!!
I really wasn't sure where to put the message because Vollenweider plays harp, guzheng, dan tranh etc. But he really loves chinese music and uses erhu, dizi and guzheng a lot. In fact there is a piece that he composed for a chinese ensemble with 3 erhu, sheng, dizi, pipa, guzheng, ruan and yangqin that is quite nice.
I wasn't going to buy it but Tower Records had it on sale for $7 off and I couldn't resist.
