interesting, I just saw a news report about the python. apparently the burmese (and other?) python infests the florida everglades.
The only native predator that can come close to taking them down is the aligator. From the report its sort of a 50/50 thing. the snake eating the aligator half the time.
If there are any erhu fanatics out there that like to hunt snakes. The state of florida will apparently appreciate it.
Endangered in one place of the world and pest in the other... It just goes to prove. Don't release your pets into the wild.
Another forign species which EVERONE south of virginia know and fight. KUDZU! an african(?) vine that in optimum conditions grows a foot or more a day. Somebody about 50-75 yrs ago got the great idea that it would be good to prevent erosion on banks.

Maaltan, Kudzu root is highly prized in Asian food as a sauce thickener and sells for big money in US health food stores (especially the kudzu imported from Japan). Also, the medical society in the US has discovered that kudzu can be used to help cure alcoholism. I knew about kudzu growing in the south a long time ago and thought about starting a business, but being the lazy sort that I am, I didn't bother.
Sounds like a great business opportunity for someone who's interested!
Regards, Paul...

Hey!!!
If you guys can catch python snakes exceeding 4 m(don't kill poor young ones), please hold it up, cut off its head, and insert a hose into its artery. Guzzle it with water till its bloated till the skin nicely opened up. Then cut down its neck at the white belly. Skin it, and dry it!
I'll send my team over, and we'll begin erhu making in USA! Hows that/

I just got out of bed and am checking email before breakfast. Now I'll think of fresh python, all nicely bloated, while I eat my Wheaties. Carlos

If an alligator's chances with a python are 50/50, I wonder about mine. I know! I will just stun the python by playing a tune on my erhu. The should be fine unless my prey recognises grandpa's skin on my erhu and gets really pissed.
Best wishes,
David

Hows that/ hmm .. i wonder if you have to pay for a license to move those skins around the world. I would say you need some sort of documention but shouldn't have to pay for it since its a pest. But the bueraucratic monster will say otherwise i bet. and kudzu ropt.. hmm thats interesting. Only problem is i think kudzu is .01% root and 99.99% vine

Without doing extensive calculations, I would speculate that your chance of survival would be about the same as an ice cube in hell!! Regards, Paul...
