Hi everyone- I'm new here and I play the pipa, so this was a great forum to stumble across! Actually, I am writing a piece now that has mixed traditional instruments with western, and I was given a guide for traditional flutes, which someone told me is wrong. The document I have shows the pitch range of each flute with a treble clef with the 8 on top (meaning every note written is actually played up an octave higher) and I am wondering if this is actually correct. After listening to several different pieces for these flutes, I don't think they can actually play that high. I am wondering if anyone here can help clarify the problem, million thanks!!!
