Question about playing G Dizi with D music

I play Dizi in G with small Chinese orchestra. We have some music in D that our teacher would like me to play on my G Dizi. Our teacher does not speak English and I do not speak Chinese. I gather from others in the orchestra the reason he wants me to do it is so that I do not have to switch dizi's. I do not understand about translating the music this way. Would it work, if I use the attached finger chart that shows G and D. I added the numbers to the attached music with G written over the D numbers.

I know this probably sounds like a silly question so please bear with me.
