You might check with Monty Levenson at www.shakuhachi.com/ since he is at least plugged into the Shak community. Maybe he will know where to refer you. Best wishes, David

I see this is an old message, but it never hurts to have updated info. (^_^) You can get silk strings (all shamisen styles) from www.chordscanada.com. (They ship most places.) FYI, Monty Levenson knows them.

Hi, sokyoku and everyone. Thanks for looking at this old post, sokyoku. Do you have silk strings from chordscanada? I've wondered about their quality. I assumed it was good, but new strings haven't come up for me yet. What style shamisen do you play? Best, and keep playing, K.

Hi kyokuhon: I have lots of extra shamisen strings, so haven't needed to purchase any so far. I play and teach jiuta shamisen, and also play a bit of Tsugaru (but, I confess, nothing worth listening to yet.....<grin>!)
