my hands are kind of too big(marfans ) for my instrument and when I play my double jointed thumb goes all weird when I'm playing, mainly because the width between the neck and strung are too narrow. If I loosen the qianjin, there would be wolf tones... any suggestions on what I should replace or any other erhu models on a larger scale?

Just a beginner but I am not sure the qinjin could be made looser as it would effect the tone. Also will the couple of mm it would give you by loosening it help? You might be sacrificing good tones for minimal benefit if you get my meaning.
I expect a picture of how you are holding the instrument at the neck might help people suggest tweaks in the way you are holding it that might help? I changed my hand position slightly as I found that I was gripping really hard with my thumb and had a lot of tension - so I moved the way my thumb sits so the erhu is just resting in the bit where the thumb joins the hand rather than being gripped per say.
I am double jointed in my fingers also. My little finger (fourth) especially causes me issues when I stretch for the A in first position. The joint gets locked the wrong way - so feel your pain there (figuratively and literally). I am hoping that finger strengthening exercises will help support the joints - maybe there is something like this for the thumbs?
Sorry I couldn't help more.
