Hello! My name is Javier, i'm from Spain, and i'm thinking of buying my first Xiao. My idea was to find a store in Europe, but for now I have found only two: - Tununtunumba, in Madrid, Spain. 18€. I have bought another instruments there and i had no problem, but i don't know if this xiao is worth it. - Fluteshop, in Netherlands. 59,95€. What do you think about these options? Do you know European stores where i can buy? If not, where do you recommend buying? My idea was to spend between 20-40 €, and I do not know if import fees can be a problem buying from China or Usa. I have seen some options that I liked about Chinese pages, but I have never bought anything like a xiao and I do not know what the process is like. Thank you very much for your help!!

I usually buy from redmusicshop (china) or easonmusic (above your price range) (Singapore)... they are high quality and have more key/grade/wood options. Redmusicshop has a shipping/tax calculator that's a bit useful There are different models of xiao with 6 or 8 holes, short/long, and left or right hand. The one from tununtunumba has no information on the key/grade of the instrument. I would avoid it... Fluteshop's xiao is in G, where most pieces are in F or G. Buy this one if you want to buy in EU. I don't know about importing to Spain/Europe... Sorry

Thank you very much You could buy either one. The model from redmusicshop is probably the best option based off price range and beginner level. A student in my essemble bought multiple xiaos from this site, as well as from taobao ... I suggest you buy from redmusicshop because the one from tununtunumba(what a name :v) may not be well made. The accuracy of the notes on the instrument and being well responsive to save your breath are the main factors to look at. The shape of the instrument, sometimes being funnel-shaped will make notes inaccurate. Other times, the wood is not dry. You can fix the intonation by carving the instrument or filling in some parts of the instrument with clay, wax, etc. (Risky) Good luck

I think it is the best option, because the xiao from Tununtunumba can be like the xiaos from Aliexpress. (I know that is a good shop for instruments, but xiao is not a "famous" instrument here in Spain, and they have only one model, and maybe is a very simple one. With other instruments, like "gaita gallega" or Whistles, they have more options and quality) Thank you for your help.

Thank you, ambientflute. I was thinking about Thomann but the price was too high. It could be a good idea. It would be great to know about the quality.
