I have a few of her albums, including the collaboration with the Kronos Quartet, as well as 'Bat out of Hell' done on a pipa (!). Wu Man's version of the 'Dance of the Yi' people is my favourite version (sorry Liu Fang et al..) The recording quality of the pipa is really really crucial - it's not an easy instrument to record - it's gentle sound being plucked by the finger plectrums sometimes comes across. 'Wu Man' Ensemble is probably my favourite album, rather than the 'Wu Man and friends' album. I wish she'd named her band "Wu Man Clan". With her photogenic looks, she could probably pull in the alternative rock crowd, rather than just the classical and avant-garde classical style chamber music fans. She really has a phenomenal talent. Judging by the lack of comments on the OP's thread 5 years later - some of you guys need to go out and listen to her.
