It could be second smaller qianjin used for fine-tuning, old-fashioned style. Then again, I could be wrong.

Yes, I've seen two small strings behind the qianjin and by moving them around one can fine tune the strings. Lots of folks use some sort of metal fine tuner these days.

Great thing about using the string for fine tuning rather than the metal tuner is the DO NOT get caught with the bow hair.. Never
Thats a big bonus for me
