Hi all
I bought an old pipa a few years ago and have always had trouble getting the tuning pegs to hold. I have been using rubber cement glue to keep them in place but as you might guess this is a real pain in the neck. The instrument is very old and I am not sure if this is just a problem with my instrument or if all pipas require some sticky material on the pegs in order for them to stay in tune. If anyone can help me with this I would really appreciate it.

Argh!!!!!
Get a Violin Shop guy to use Peg Oil, tell him your prob. If Not, use Blackboard Chalk, apply onto your peg where it will contact with your pipa.
NEVER apply anything that you cannot wash away with water!

Thanks for the tip. I will definitely try that.
But just so you know, rubber cement is not permanent. It can be easily rubbed off just about any surface. That's why I used it.
