Hi. I have been doing a lot of research on which dizi to buy as an upgrade over my $10 one. I have been interested in a Ng Teck Seng C Qudi, and have messaged Eason Music asking them to notify me when it is in stock, and to provide a video preview. In the meantime, I happened to notice this Amazon listing. It says it's master-made, and it's more expensive than the DXH. My question is: Has anyone ever actually used one of these, and could attest to its quality/lack thereof? I couldn't find any useful information on the net, so I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

Sound of mountain is run by a guy who does not play any musical instruments. He is unable to distinguish an ok dizi with a good one. I've had good experiences with Eason and Redmusicshop. (Redmusicshop in particular has found me hard to find items: backing tracks and scores for the xun. These are freely available to the Chinese reader on the net but alas all I can read is the menu)

Last month I purchased a Ng Teck Seng dizi in D from Eason Music. It plays well in tune, but the sound quality is not quite up to my expectations. I much prefer my DXH. If I were to order another dizi, it is most likely to be another DXH. I have found some variety of quality in DXH, but on the whole they are quite good in my experience. I would not recommend another make that I have not tried, especially from a vendor that does not actually play the instrument.
Best wishes,
David

Oh, thanks to both of you! And David, I find it interesting that the sound quality of the Ng Teck Seng was not up to your expectations. It's another $40 over the DXH, which is a lot of money for me right now . I'll still look at the video, but thanks so much!
