So I'm buying my first Erhu next week and I already found a store near my home thankfully All that's left now is too choose which Erhu to buy for the first time I know a lot of you might recommend Rosewood but personally I don't like switching instruments much and all I need is something that would still work in the longterm Aged Rosewood is out of question because in the store, the difference between 08A and 09A is $1000 and that's wayyyy too much!! I chose ebony because it's not completely basic but not so crappy, yet it is still around my price range which is $460 usd to $680 usd if anyone knows a good place to buy an Erhu perhaps online for aged rosewood with that range I would be so happy !! <3 <3 So what do you think? Ebony or Aged Rosewood? because I am considering YKM3 Concert Grade Aged Rosewood

In your price range, I don't think that the wood choice matters that much. Other factors, including the snake skin and workmanship are likely to be more important. Ebony or grenadilla is a good choice for a quality erhu. The reputation of the maker and the dealer is important. Since you mention YKM as an option, I suspect that you are considering buying from Eason Music. I suggest contacting Sung Wah at Eason for his recommendations within your budget. Playing qualities and sound are much more important than the wood used, so I suggest that you not worry too much about getting rosewood over something else.
Best wishes and good luck with your erhu shopping.

Thank you very much! but turns out I can't really buy online because of certain reasons , thus, I can only buy DunHuang 07A and 08A what's your thoughts on DunHuang? and i've read that the two of them are made of ebony but 08A is a bit more expensive, and i was just wondering why, when they're of the same wood
