Welcome to the forum, paddyflute. I don't know that any on this forum is properly equipped to provide the measurements you request, but we will see. I suggest ordering a dizi in D or C, and doing your own measurements. There are a lot of advantages to having the actual instrument you are copying on hand. I like Eason Music in Singapore, but there are other sources listed on this forum that are worth considering.
Best wishes,
David

Speaking of Dizi flutes, are there any fingering charts available in English?
I'd love to pick one up to add to my stable - I play Irish flute primarily, and it would be fun to have flutes in a few different keys. Especially since they seem to be sooooo much cheaper than a decent "Irish" flute made of blackwood.

There are fingering charts for various keys that you can find via Google. The fingering should not be much different that what you use for Irish flute. Since bamboo flutes are much less standard, you will need to experiment with fingerings to see what works best on your dizi. Be aware that the key of Chinese flutes is determined differently than for Irish flutes. A dizi key is designated from the pitch sounded with the left hand holes covered, while an Irish flute is named for the pitch with all holes covered. A D Irish flute is a G dizi. Of course, you can get a G dizi, and play it like you would a D Irish flute.
You will find the dizi to be generally less expensive that Irish flutes, but they also are not quite as refined. You could not expect the same quality in a $50 dizi as in a $1400 wooden flute. Bamboo also tends to be more delicate than wood. So, no soaking that dizi in a pint of Guinness. Wood flutes are in jeopardy of cracking due to temperature and humidity changes, but bamboo is even more so.
Best wishes,
David

Hello, I need a copy of the score of either Cai Jing Min's Lovely Home Country or Galloping on the Prairie. If someone could please help me acquire these sources it would be greatly appreciated. I need them for a Musical Links Investigation project.
Thanks!
