I was chefing in my parent's restaurant and had the radio on. There was a newsflash and with disbelief I ran next door to the barber shop to watch the news on tv. Then the second aircraft crashed.
The next day at work at the postal delivery office, the atmosphere was very sombre with someone sticking the front page of a newspaper on the notice board.
In a way I was personally affected in that my wife who worked for KLM airlines was made redundant. Still, lucky to be alive.

I was going to give birth for the first time (my daughter is born a couple of days after). I was very nervous. I was watching TV when my program was interrupted by video of the first crash. I thought it was an American fiction about air-crash, I didn't understand immediately that it was real.
