Hello everyone,
I've recently acquired a handmade morin khuur from the maker Se Deng (色登) and would like to find a way to sell it. Does anyone have any advice on where to find a buyer for such a specific instrument? The instrument I have is also one of very high quality, so ideally it would not be sold to a beginner or someone who is just picking up the instrument for fun. It was purchased in Inner Mongolia for me by a friend who thought my interest in these instruments was more than just an interest. Since I don't play it myself, I'd like to sell it to someone who does and is in the market for a gorgeously made matouqin. Is there a better marketplace than eBay and the like?
Thanks in advance!

Hi Arkander
Given the choice between the erhu and matouqin I prefer the matouqin. Unfortunately I don't know of any matouqin teachers, (Actually I didn't try to find one here in the UK) so I took up the erhu instead.
Where abouts are you?
Ed
ps we would all love to see some photos of it

The most serious matouqin player I know of is Hong Wang (Henry) who operates Datung Music. He markets several models of matouqin from his website and Ebay. You might contact him for advice. Hong Wang is active on Facebook, in case you want to look for him there. Let me know if you come up dry, and I will see what I can find.
Best wishes,
David

I am very sorry for the delayed response! I don't frequent this site so I forgot to come back and check if someone had responded. I figured I would get an e-mail or something. I am in the NE area of the United States. I can definitely supply pictures. Is there some way to add them to the thread?
