Hi everyone! I know this question brought up many times, but I still can not be sure what is the right fingering for C key dizi. archive.is/VDSzR this link shows different fingering from this chart (as c key is number 1) starvoid.proboards.com/thread/1073thanks a lot for the help!

Are you referring to the fingering of a C-pitched dizi?
Or are you trying to play a D pitched dizi with the C-key treated as "1"?
X = Covered O = Not covered
C-pitch dizi means
XXXOOO = C
Therefore, XXXXXX = G ==> 5 with dot underneath XXXXXO = A ==> 6 with dot underneath XXXXOO = B ==> 7 with dot underneath XXXOOO = C ==> 1 XXOOOO = D ==> 2 XOOOOO = E ==> 3 OXXOOO = F = 4

If you're playing a G-pitched flute: G-pitch dizi means XXXOOO ==> G ==> definition of G-major
Then XXXXXX = D ==> 5 with dot underneath XXXXXO = E ==> 6 with dot underneath XXXXOO = F# ==> 7 with dot underneath XXXOOO = G ==> 1 XXOOOO = A==> 2 XOOOOO = B ==> 3 OXXOOO = C ==> 4
For a G-pitched flute, if you want to treat C as “1” such that you create a C-major scale then XXXXXX = D ==> 2 with dot underneath XXXXXO = E ==> 3 with dot underneath XXXXHO = F ==> 4 with dot underneath XXXOOO = G ==> 5 with dot underneath XXOOOO = A==> 6 with dot underneath XOOOOO = B ==> 7 with dot underneath OXXOOO = C ==> 1
H refers to half-fingering.

D-pitch dizi means XXXOOO ==> D ==> reference point for D major scale
Then we have this listing of the D major scale: XXXXXX = A ==> 5 with dot underneath XXXXXO = B ==> 6 with dot underneath XXXXOO = C# ==> 7 with dot underneath XXXOOO = D ==> 1 XXOOOO = E==> 2 XOOOOO = F# ==> 3 OXXOOO = G ==> 4
If you are playing a D-pitch dizi and want to treat “1” as C then it would be a nightmare because it would be XXXXHO with H representing half-fingering. Additionally, you would need to have another half-fingering to create "F" since C-major contains no sharps/flats: XXXXXX = A ==> 6 with dot underneath XXXXXO = B ==> 7 with dot underneath XXXXHO = C ==> 1 XXXOOO = D ==> 2 XXOOOO = E==> 3 XHOOOO = F ==> 4 OXXOOO = G ==> 5
However, if you are playing the D-pitch dizi and want to treat "1" as G for a G-major scale, it's not too bad: XXXXXX = A ==> 2 with dot underneath XXXXXO = B ==> 3 with dot underneath XXXXHO = C ==> 4 with dot underneath XXXOOO = D ==> 5 with dot underneath XXOOOO = E==> 6 with dot underneath XOOOOO = F# ==> 7 with dot underneath OXXOOO = G ==> 1

Textbooks can sometimes be cryptic about switching from D major to G major using a D-pitched flute. Often they might refer to D major as "5 with dot underneath when all holes are covered (XXXXXX)" and G major as "2 with dot underneath when all holes are covered."

But what I'm saying here holds true for six finger dizis.
Low G is 7 fingers.
For a low G-pitched flute, if you want to treat C as “1” such that you create a C-major scale then XXXXXXX = D ==> 2 with dot underneath XXXXXXO = E ==> 3 with dot underneath XXXXOOO = F ==> 4 with dot underneath (implication is that you can play "F" naturally) XXXOOOO = G ==> 5 with dot underneath XXOOOOO = A==> 6 with dot underneath XOOOOOO = B ==> 7 with dot underneath OXXOOOO = C ==> 1

If C is written on your dizi, you dizi is pitched in C.
If I want to play G-major on my C-pitched dizi, I need to do two things:
1) Define G as "1" 2) Generate a F# ('cause G-major contains F#)
Therefore, XXXXXX = G ==> 1 XXXXXO = A ==> 2 XXXXOO = B ==> 3 XXXOOO = C ==> 4 XXOOOO = D ==> 5 XOOOOO = E ==> 6 OOOOOO = F# = 7
