Here's Wolfgang Wendel, brother of the operator of Wendel's German Bakery & Bistro 溫德德式烘培餐館, playing the xiao.
PS: The person who actually hand crafted the xiao is sitting on the left. He was closing his eyes while listening to the music!

The person sitting on the right in the video refuses to make dizis and xiaos with metal tenons. He one time personally told me "Why would you mutilate a nice piece of bamboo like that?" Therefore, Wolfgang, the xiao player on the right, is playing a one piece xiao. Just curious how Wolfgang brings that xiao in his travels especially when it is close to two meters long and how those customs people react to it, especially given the recent episode of a flutist dealing with US customs. Are European customs more understanding?

AGREE! my own dizi and xiao, except for odd key like #F bangdi and such (for orchestra, ensemble) has no tenons.
