That article about Thay Vinh Bao has started to circulate around. He is a fascinating musician and teacher. I have a dan tranh of 21 strings, and a dan gao from him. I also have many hours of music and scores from him. VB presents a very genuine form of traditional Vietnamese music that is otherwise almost gone.
You can also find other videos with VB on youtube.
Best wishes,
David

I must be going through a "Vietnamese phase" after cooking Beef Pho in the restaurant. I've just bought the novel "Tales of Kieu", I imagine it to be similar to "Story of the Stone" in that is it a tragedy. Curiously there are no copies in the UK; having to wait at least seven weeks for delivery from the US.
Has anyone else read Tales of Kieu?
