What poem or decoration is engraved on your dizi/xiao?

No idea lol. I asked a Chinese acquaintance I know, but she said she couldn't really read the writing on mine. Good idea for a post though.

I asked a Chinese friend to translate the poem on my Dizi. He said it's half of a poem by Li Bai, the first famous and one of the most important poets of Chinese literature. The engraved part translates as: Li Bai was about to leave by boat, suddenly he heard a song at the bank of the lake. The rest of the poem would go as: The water in this Peach Blossom Lake is as deep as a thousand Chi (unit of measurement), yet the depth of the water is incomparable to the depth of the affection (or friendship) Wang Lun showed towards me in his farewell song.

Here's the poem in Chinese.
李白乘舟將欲行, 忽聞岸上踏歌聲, 桃花潭水深千尺, 不及汪倫送我情
How I wish someone could play the xiao or dizi to me as a token of friendship that is deeper than any lake in the Lake District . . . . . . . . . . . . .

It's just a place I wish I could have visited since someone talked so much about that place.
I currently live in Taiwan, but I was born in the US and moved to so many places in the US. And I have traveled to so many places in the world by now to know certain things here and there.
Like where to purchase shinobues when one is in Tokyo Or where to get the best German pork knuckles in Sydney Or that Moules (aka mussels) seem to taste better in the English channel than San Francisco Or that there is one incarnation of the London Bridge in Arizona Or that there's wild chives on the banks of rivers in Illinois as well as edible carp Or that one can hunt for very delicious crabs along the beautiful Colonial Parkway between Williamsburg and Yorktown Or where to look for xiao makers in Taiwan Or where to look for the residence of the Bishop of Constantinople when in Istanbul Or that there is an ethnic Chinese Muslim from Taiwan who is buried in a cemetery near the walls of Constantinople Or that the best brand of ice cream in Turkey is Mado, and that all other brands don't taste as good Or what's it like to cross the border from San Diego and Tijuana (and vice versa) Or that ox tails in Spain do taste good, but not as good as my mother's ox tail stew Or for every grove of oranges in Valencia, there are two or three loquat trees also planted. Or what it means to wear jerseys.

"I am endlessly yearning To be in Changan. ...Insects hum of autumn by the gold brim of the well; A thin frost glistens like little mirrors on my cold mat; The high lantern flickers; and. deeper grows my longing. I lift the shade and, with many a sigh, gaze upon the moon, Single as a flower, centred from the clouds. Above, I see the blueness and deepness of sky. Below, I see the greenness and the restlessness of water.... Heaven is high, earth wide; bitter between them flies my sorrow. Can I dream through the gateway, over the mountain? Endless longing Breaks my heart."
