Hello, I have just gotten back from China a few weeks ago. I brought back a few Dizi and Xiao. I have been practicing everyday, and pretty much got the hang of it.
What I would like to find now are some simple, preferably slow paced songs that I can learn.
Any suggestions? Also, where can I find the Jianpu for whatever songs you think would be good for a beginner to start practicing?
Even if it is in western notation that is fine, I can hand write it in Jianpu.
Just give me something that a beginner can play, please.
Thank you.

Okay thanks. Any source of Jianpu is much appreciated.
I have only been playing a few weeks. Never played a flute before. I figured out how to play all the notes (well, the basic notes), and I've found some Jianpu, but maybe the ones I've found were too difficult because when I play it, it doesn't sound anything like the song haha.
I am just looking for something to play, something easy to get me started.

Hi Seven, On xiao, some of the most straightforward songs to play are Taiwanese folksongs such as 雨夜花 (Flower on a Rainy Night) and 望春风 (Facing the Spring Breeze). Jianpu for Flower on a Rainy Night: www.jianpu.cn/pu/86/86781.htmJianpu for Facing the Spring Breeze: www.zhaogepu.com/jianpu/87901.htmlIf your xiao is a G key xiao, just change it to 1=G and you should be good to go.
