Hello All, I am from London, England and making my first Dizi purchase. Given the advice in the forum I understand that a C or D would be a good first purchase. I have chosen a D to begin with. In this link are a number of different types available www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Dmi&field-keywords=dizi+flute+d&rh=n%3A340837031%2Ck%3Adizi+flute+dThe one I believe I will purchase is noted as 'NEW Nice Quality Traditional Handmade Chinese Musical Instrument Bamboo Flute/dizi in D Key' - It is shipped from China, do you believe this to be a good choice? Any thoughts you have are greatly appreciated! I eagerly await your expert advice Best regards, Kalonji

Hi Kalonji and welcome, Hey another Londoner! You should have contacted me, I have an expensive wooden D you can have. Yes I know, it's not good, so you can have it The dizi you've choosen is ok, if you decide to take it up seriously then we can recommend some better ones. I'm in Barnet, whereabouts are you? best Wishes Ed

Kalonji
There's no charge since though it's expensive and beautiful looking it isn't in tune. I pass Waltham Abbey (except this week) on my way to my teacher's near Erith.....yes a long trek.
