Hi, all, I've been trying to come up with a good portable qin table that won't require a major bank loan, and at some point I realized that it's possible that keyboard players may have already done the R&D for me. I know it's not traditional, but does anyone have any experience using a commercial electronic keyboard stand with a table top mounted to it as a qin table? Much obliged for any experiences or thoughts! Best and keep playing, K.

Hmmm, the top board will have to be hard and hollow to compensate for the poor accoustics of a flimsy keyboard contraption. And it must be sturdy and firm.

I've seen pictures of a qin being played on a zheng stand, with a mic directly underneath the soundholes. Might work...!

yeah my first teacher used the gu zheng table which is i suppose silimar to the keyboard stand.
She also used to pile up about 10 gu qin books on either end of the qin, all resting on a coffee table. I sat on a sofa! A bit unorthodox but it worked ok. (main prob was my distance from the qin with my legs in the way too)
