Wish this upcoming year will be happier even if it is a total wishful thinking. And for those who have disappeared from the forum:
Should Old Acquaintance be forgot,
and never thought upon;
The flames of Love extinguished,
and fully past and gone:
Is thy sweet Heart now grown so cold,
that loving Breast of thine;
That thou canst never once reflect
On Old long syne.
CHORUS:
On Old long syne my Jo,
On Old long syne,
That thou canst never once reflect,
On Old long syne.
Should old acquaintance be forgot,
and never brought to mind ?
Should old acquaintance be forgot,
and old lang syne ?
CHORUS:
For auld lang syne, my dear,
for auld lang syne,
we'll take a cup of kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.
And surely you’ll buy your pint cup !
and surely I’ll buy mine !
And we'll take a cup o’ kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.
CHORUS
We two have run about the slopes,
and picked the daisies fine ;
But we’ve wandered many a weary foot,
since auld lang syne.
CHORUS
We two have paddled in the stream,
from morning sun till dine† ;
But seas between us broad have roared
since auld lang syne.
CHORUS
And there’s a hand my trusty friend !
And give us a hand o’ thine !
And we’ll take a right good-will draught,
for auld lang syne

I wish I could get drunk at a New Year's party, but no: I'm staying home with my parents. Just watched a TV broadcast of the fireworks display in Sydney . . . . in two hours there will be fireworks at the Taipei 101, but I've already seen it twice in person in my past seven years in Taiwan. Going back home after the fireworks display is simply a pain even with the metro system running the entire night. Crowds would pack the station, creating a very claustrophobic environment where people literally vomit because they can't stand the crowds.
