You already have a pretty large C collection as is. Why do you like C-dizi in particular?

I don't know what Ed will answer, but I think that C-dizi has really interesting repertoire and is exactly in the middle between low F and high G, si it's a very usefull key you can play almost all pieces with.

I'm exasperated that none of my C dizis are as low as my teacher's C. I'm tempted to get two C's, one for me and one for him.

Then wouldn't Bb be low enough for you? If felt that the Bb that I gave you was low. What's the frequency that you get when you blow your C flutes and what's the frequency that your teacher gets? If I ever return to London one day (wouldn't mind returning and watch more West End productions and find a place with rhubarb pie), I would bring my Imelda Marcos collection of C dizis and ask you to identify the one that is as low as your teachers.

thanks, hopefully by then 'you know who' (who I consider is a very good friend) would have gotten over his pique.
