Here is donsiau's version of the xindi, made per request from someone in the Hong Kong Chinese orchestra And here's a wooden version: You can download clips here: donsiau.net/bb/viewthread.php?tid=2295&extra=page%3D1Regardless of vertical or transverse flutes, donsiau seems to always make a very nice haunting resonance. I'm going to ask him on facebook how many holes are involved here because I can't figure that out from the forum or from the pictures.

Donsiau responded on facebook that he can make either 7 finger or 11 finger xindi per request. (But you know that his flutes cost several hundred dollars).
