Hi everyone,
Just wondering if anyone has any information on making xiaos from PVC plumber's pipe. I'm interested in trying my hand at it just so that I can get started learning (both the playing and the making of the instrument ;D).
Hope you're all doing well. Happy Easter!
Phillip

My friend Don made one. It sounds nice. I don't know how to make though.

This actually works great since it has the measurements. I've got a ton of material on making high end shakuhachi from PVC (sounds like an oxymoron I know). I downloaded it in the hopes that I could apply the principles to making a xiao. Since what you provided has the measurements, I think I'm all set. If there is anything out there in English, though, I'd be most interested in seeing it. Thanks Allen!!! Phillip

Best wishes, David No problems here. They say Mac users tend to have a superior air of smugness. 'They' being Windows users who have to update their virus checkers monthly PS Phillip - not sure if you've forgotten: sites.google.com/site/modernethnicflutes/ Francois de Villiers has all the accurate measurements worked out for a plastic xiao as well as the South American quenacho. You could try asking him to help you with the measurements....

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ConfickerConficker, also known as Downup, Downadup and Kido, is a computer worm targeting the Microsoft Windows operating system that was first detected in November 2008. More the reason to use Linux, but I'm digressing.

Thanks for all the replies, everyone. I think I have what I was looking for now. But if anyone else comes up with anything, let me know.
