Hi everyone, I'm Thùy Dung from Vietnam. I'm a student in Vietnam national academy of music, my major is the Dan Tranh (the same as the Guzheng of China). This year, i'll graduate on June (2012) and i'm finding the Butterfly lovers sheet music for Violin and Orchestra or the Guzheng and Piano. I really love this and wanna play it. So please help me if u can. So thankful!!!

Hi Thuy Dung:
How are you? I just visited Thanh Thuy in Hanoi. She is such an amazing dan tranh player. I wish I had more time to spend there. I believe you have to purchase the concerto score directly from the composer He Zhanhao. He charges $200-$500 depends on which version and piece. If you wish, I'll find his contact information for you. If you just want the guzheng solo piece, I have the score in the simplified number notation.
Best
Carol

Thanh Thuy is indeed wonderful on dan tranh. That is great that you got to spend some time with her, Carol. I have her CD from several years ago and enjoy it very much. Did you get to take a lesson?
Best wishes,
David

Hi David:
Yes, I took 2 lessons with her. She was expecting me to stay at least 1-2 weeks, but I could only be in Hanoi for 2 days. It's kind of embarrassing. Her skills made me feel guzheng playing is like fast food instant noodle, LOL. She can just play any random notes, and they sound so beautiful!
The good news is she said she is visiting Seattle in July. I'm going up to meet her there.
Best,
Carol

Wow, Thanh Thuy is coming to Seattle in July? That is great! I wonder if Hai Hong knows (of Huong Viet). Maybe that is where she is going. I will find out. Anyway, I hope to join the party too.
Thanks for the heads-up.
By the way, anything new on the silk erhu strings yet?
Best wishes,
David
