Hello,
i am new to this forum and a beginner in playing the erhu. to learn the erhu i got an erhu from china. i have a lot of trainingmaterials like instructionvideos or advices from my teacher, but there is a problem. he went back to china and i cant call him because i know only some word in chinese ( like 对不起,我不懂。我的中文非常不好。 ;D ), so i cant call him.
i need to know how i can play the right tones. to tune the erhu i got an electronic tuner. to bad i dont have a good ear (i played drums and percussions, so i dont needed it).
it works fine for d and a or c and g but when i try to use it to decide if my tones are right (when i play the full c scale) they arent right. always they go up an down like 5-10 Hz. if i only move my finger a little i may be more.
i want to get a good start with this instrument, so i need to now how to solve this mistake.
i read in some topic that my ear gets better and i will get the feeling for the right tone later when i hear a lot of well played erhu music.
is it enough for the start when i get the tones like that. i relly dont want to do some serious mistake in the beginning, so that i have to work alot later to corect it.
thank you for your advice and i am really happy that i found this forum (i will post more when i have some improvement.)
P.S.
i read that a lot of people know about the videos from george gao, but dont know how the quality is. from my point of view they are very good. they answerd a lot of questions and helped me to have a good start with the technic exercises. if you have some questions to the videos tell me, i have them all ( i think they are all usefull )
