My Er Hu has lost its strip of plastic which used to cover the body of the instrument at the point where the bow slides over the edge of the drum head (anyone know what this piece of plastic is called?).
My question is, which glue should I use to replace it?
A professional furniture restorer that I asked says he always uses Superglue for this kind of thing, but on the packet it says that it makes leather harden. And as this would directly contact the snake skin I don't want that to happen.

I have now made this repair using Bostik Contact Adhesive and it seems OK so far. I will let the forum know if in the future the drum shrinks or rots away or something!
