Hello everybody, it's been a long time since I've posted something on the board. Anyways, I was wondering what level Bing Zhong Yin (Reflections in Sickness --- One of Liu Tian Hua's classic solo compositions) is. I'm planning to take the level exam this year in fall hosted by Beijing Conservatory and just want to get a sense of what level I'm at right now. I'll post up a recording soon for you all to hear to show my improvement from a year ago.
P.S. Happy new years to you all!

In the book Collection of National Erhu (Amateur) Examination Pieces, quanguo erhu (yeyu) kaoji zuopin ji, edited by Zhang Shao, Xu Jiangde and Zhao Hanyang, it's listed as grade 9, out of 10 grades in total.
But the other grade 9 pieces are: spring reflected on er spring themes from Shaanxi qinqiang opera Sanmenxia gorge cappriccio Lanhuahua ballade
It seems to me Bing Zhong Yin is nowhere near the technical difficulty of these other grade 9 pieces.
Also, Han Gong Qiu Yue (autumn moon, Han palace), which is played only in one left hand position, is grade 10 along with Xin Hun Bie (parting of newly wedded).
I would think Beijing Conservatory will have details of their exam pieces and grades.
Yeah, please post a recording, would love to hear it.
