Now that I've been playing in an ensemble for a while, my ears seem to be pretty well tuned to pick out Chinese traditional instruments in pop music. I've recently stumbled across a couple of songs that I like a bunch while listening to pandora.com. They are:
Aqueous Transmission by Incubus on the album Morning View (great Pipa and Xiao) Big Men Cry by Banco de Gaia on the album Big Men Cry (erhu makes up part of the mix)
I think you can listen to part of the song, at least to get a feel for it, on Amazon.com.
Are there other songs in pop music that feature, or include Chinese traditional instruments?

No replies to this? Really? I'm surprised. 王力宏 (not sure if you know how to read Chinese or not, but his name is Leehom Wang; he's a Taiwanese-American singer) has incorporated traditional Chinese instruments into several of his songs. A few that come to mind are 女朋友 ("Girlfriend"), stuff off of his albums Shangri-La and Heroes of Earth (I haven't listened to those two albums yet, so I'm just going off of what someone told me), and I think 火力全開 ("Open Fire") features a Chinese drum. Another song that's pretty good that has some traditional instruments in it is 美 ("Beautiful"). 周杰倫 (Jay Chou, a Taiwanese singer) also incorporates traditional instruments into some of his songs. There are a lot of songs that come to mind. Here's a link for some of them: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_songs_written_and_performed_by_Jay_Chou. It lists songs written and performed by him, as well as the major instruments in each one. A particular favorite of mine that he performed in 2004: www.youtube.com/watch?v=7JZ1FzhZMLM

Well Chinese music instruments are used quite often in Chinese pop. Here are some off the top of my head:
1. 菊花台 - Jay Chou (Bawu at the end) 2. 吻别 - Jacky Cheung (Erhu) 3. 忘情水 - Andy Lau (Erhu) 4. 中国话 - SHE (Erhu)

I just remembered! The beginning of EXO's 狼与美女 opens with a REALLY short Chinese flute solo (one that I'm still trying to figure out how to play).
Not really Chinese pop, but there was this one guy who uploaded a video of him and someone else doing a cover of Lady Gaga's Telephone on the Shakuhachi and...I forget the other instrument.
