I want to know if my system works. I have MS 7 Ultimate, and have selected several languages. 你好 你怎么样 日本語出来ますか 안녕하세요? Now I will post this and see how it comes out. I have a Korean keyboard which i bought for 20 dollars on ebay. Incidentally, there is another way of typing Chinese besides pinyin, but I have not figured our how to use it. I have notice that my MIME program will often give me a character when I type just the first letter of the pinyin.
Modify: Yes, they all showed up properly on my monitor. But when I went to "modify" they showed up in unicode.

However, the unicode was only in the modify window. When I returned to the regular thread, they were still okay.

Have you selected Korean?
It doesn't look like Hanzi chinese. Not that I can read anyway!

The Korean is the third short lline. It is in Korean writing, or Hangul.

You are correct. I do not know why, but when I posted Chinese in another thread in this same forum, it did not coome out as either hanzi or unicode, but what appeared to be machine language. Computers do not alwys do the same things, despite what people say.

This is a test. I tried typing Chinese in another thread on this forum, and it did not come out right. Íí°²
Modify: It did not come out right this time either. I do not know what is going on. Looks like I will lying awake tonight.

I'm using XP (in English) and the Windows IME set to Chinese (PRC), some random Hanzi:
二胡三弦你好
EDIT
but when I modify my post, the hanzi in the edit box show up as a string of numbers like "& # 1234567", which is the raw unicode.

I can read that - except the 4th character! Er Hu Three ... How are you. Wow. I'm semi-literate
