Please advise and help:
I require a very very very wel paded, very well made heavy-duty nylon soft carry case for my massive 26 stringed Scarlet Bird guzheng. Please and thank you,
Vi An

Guzheng carry case makers should really examine the way keyboards and synthesizers cases are made! Those cases are near indestructable..

Regarding cases, I find Chinese ones rather crudely made. My hardcase is hard, and can crack my qin up if I choose to swing it about with my qin in there. It really isn't secure in that, it can move about and get knocked around. I saw my friend with a really nice semi-hard case that is well padded and tightly fits the qin so that it doesn't move. I'd like to get one of those but I think it may be custom made in China.

Yeah, I think hard case is really dangerous. There is so much empty space in it, and the way the wood is made is hard enough to damage the instrument, but not strong enough if someone accidentaly step on it.
I saw the semi-hard case for erhu, and it's well shaped to fit the erhu. It's actually cheaper than the hard case for erhu. I've never seen one for guqin or guzheng though.
The Scarlet Bird soft case is very strong, very very well-padded. The best I've found so far to carry guzheng any where.
I found an instrument accessories maker to custom make some soft cases like the Scarlet Bird ones. But they are all for 21-stringed.

They should test the cases like they do for cars... Using dummy instruments (or crappy ones that really shouldn't have been made) instead of course!

Vi An,
Dunhuang has rigid padded canvas cases for their 21-strings. Since they mass produce 23-strings as well, you can check with them to see if they'll have those cases for 26-strings. They make a lot of 26-string instruments too. As far as I know, their semi-hard canvas cases are much lighter than their old hard green cases. They are also more effective in absorbing shocks from movements. Unfortunately, all the other companies I know only offer 21-string cases. Good luck.

Hmm,
The semi hard canvas ones are not made for 26 strings. Whats worse, the cost of the case is about $80USD bought here, and the shipping equate one Guzheng, cos they go by Volumetric.
