Yes, Lunlun Zou and Peter Kahl are married to each other, as I understand. What of it?

I think they try not to associate each other online. Keeping their relationship discrete is probably part of professionalism. There are tons of husband and wife businesses out there. Peter posts on this forum too. I think he does most of the computer stuff.

I really did not mean to overreact and jump on anyone. I do suggest that it is a good idea to stay on topic with Chinese music and stay away from commentaries on people's relationships. I also suggest that we respect one another and focus on positive matters. Remember that whoever we write about may read or hear about it. I would really feel bad if someone was hurt by what is written on this forum.
Best wishes,
David

Personally, I think Lunlun is a very talent guzheng player and Peter Kahl is a very excellent designer. He got so many awards in his past career. I do hope they can join together and create good designs of qualitied guzhengs for this instrument in the future.

While Lunlun may be a very talented musician and preached legal rights, her website advertises $99 ivory picks. I cannot support that because it is illegal to export ivory to most places in the world. I do hope they can create innovative guzheng designs that produce better sounds with environmental and animal-conscious approaches.

haiz....
some parts in me is still very indignant. Because someone reported zou lun lun's site to dunhuang. Master Xu is still very very very sure that he made guzhengs for no one but dunhuang. and the pictures taken of him were in dunhuang's factory...

How about the story about Peter Kahl learning guzheng making from Master Xu? Is that also in Dunhuang's factory?

I think it is quite not possible for anybody, especially Master Xu & his son to ignore Lunlun's advertisement in her web-site unless they really make the guzhengs for Lunlun. Otherwise they must already took action of laws to prevent their own reputation and also Dunhuang's benefit. Moreover, Dunhuang themselves will never let anyone to use the photos taken in their factory to make any profits without their approval.

hmmmmm, interesting. Read this: www.dunhuang-yueqi.com/shenming.htmThis is a declartion by Master Xu saying he never makes any instruments for Lunlun. It's posted on Dunhuang's website. I noticed that Lunlun had took off the Chinese part of Master Xu & Son. Really want to find out more about it.

If legal action is to be taken it would seem rather complicated because of the 2 parties' location. As far as I know HK and Shanghai each has a different legal system. Interesting though, it's usually those in HK trying to sue people in the Mainland for infringement cases. This time it's the other way round.

Interesting about Master Xu's letter. Is there a version in English somewhere? Is there anything in the letter regarding the official website of Master Xu and Son Co at www.masterxu.com? Who owns the company and the website? Best wishes, David

Is there anything in the letter regarding the official website of Master Xu and Son Co at www.masterxu.com? Who owns the company and the website? The domain name "masterxu.com" has been registered with a U.S. based web hosting company. A search at www.internic.net/whois.html will reveal the name of the host and the domain's valid duration. But then anyone can register any untaken domain name. To get a step closer to the truth is to find out where the acutual company is registered (in HK or Shanghai).

Their child is beautiful, so darling and learning to play and appreciate guzheng right away. This child, with mom and dad being such amazing individuals, will flourish magnificently!!

The Dunhuang site works for me, for what that's worth. Peter Kahl's new guzheng looks beautiful. I would love to see and hear one up close. Their US distributor lives about a three hour drive away. Unfortunately I don't think he has any instruments laying around.
Best wishes,
David
