Juz a weird question, when u assemble ur guzheng, how far do u put ur shorter stand. What I mean is how far u put ur shorter stand away from the left side... ???Cux I used to perfectly balance my guzheng before my senior said not to. For the best results in stability and sound production of the guzheng. The placement of stands is very important and you may have to play around a while to get them just right. Especially the left stand (stand furthest away from you) to support the tail end of the guzheng..
My suggestion is that you place the slightly taller stand for the right side of the guzheng, right under the guzheng's feet. I like to place the stands right to the edge and let the feet hug the stands securly. For the left stand I used to place it near the edge but found that is still a little unstable. So try placing it between the last guzheng bridge (with the thickest string) and the "S" curve. Although, depending on how far you have your last guzheng bridge determines how stable this configuration will be. So when in doubt just slide the stand a little closer to the edge of the "S" curve furthest away from you.
Try that.

Make sure the stands are parallel with the edge of the guzheng. Straight, not crooked.
